In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. Updates Resume on Well Beyond the Pale After a long hiatus, punctuated by a change in jobs which had me commuting from LAX to JFK each week, I am back updating Well Beyond the Pale. There is a backlog of over 500 articles that have not yet been published; they've been prepared over the past twelve months. I am proof reading them and will program them to appear in one big bolus. The big news is the arrival of Bó and Brí, two Irish Wolfhound puppies. If you select "The Irish Wolfhound" from the main menu, you'll find a link to the pair. There are also videos of the two dogs uploaded onto YouTube. I'll post a directory of videos later. The Newsfeed section has been updated too. The US Geological Survey is still the only place to get good earthquake news, but more RSS feeds have been added to other sections–there are two new sections. There's a section with RSS feeds on the Catholic Church, news and view; on Gaelige, the Irish Language and News from Notre Dame. Most of the other RSS feeds have been enhanced with new additions. November 7, 2009: There has been a major update to the Newsfeed section. News from Ireland has been divided into two categories: National and Regional. The RSS feeds for about sixty local and regional papers have been added; they're divided by county. As more local papers add RSS feeds to their sites, they'll be added to WBTP. For example, the group that owns the Fermanagh Herald doesn't offer RSS feeds on any of its 12 or so publications; once they do, I will add them. A new section has been added on feeds i nGaeilge. There aren't too many sites offering Irish language feeds, but as they appear, they are being added. This Day in History for Ireland is, essentially completed–at least the first round. Many more pieces of information will be added. The goal is to have at least one significant event from each of the last six centuries and older historical information will be added as appropriate. The heavy lifting now comes as a catalog of events from the recent Troubles is added. Feel free to post or e-mail any comments. To e-mail, click on Contact US, then "clicking here."
